The Playful Oscillation Circuit

The core of this lesson is the interaction between a melodic thumb (p) and simultaneous accompaniment strikes (im and ima). To maintain the "playful" character, ensure the bass melody is projected clearly while the plaquƩ chords remain light and buoyant. This requires a high-level of right-hand control, especially during the consecutive thumb plucks and repeated accompaniment strikes.

The Assisting Pivot Strategy

When moving from measure 1 to measure 2, you can utilize an assisting pivot. Keep finger 1 firmly pressed on its note while you move finger 2 from the 3rd string to the 5th string. This anchor point stabilizes the hand, reduces mechanical friction, and ensures that the transition is seamless and secure. Release finger 1 as soon as you activate the new note on the 5th string.

Advanced Horizontal Navigation

The finale of this piece introduces a sophisticated three-finger horizontal movement. This provides an excellent opportunity to practice both single and triple-guiding fingers. By maintaining string contact during these shifts, you engineer a seamless transition that preserves the clarity and pacing of the music.

The Play along

I've found that at the begining of the learning journey it can be very helpful to have a recording to follow along. Remember that you can easily change YouTube video playback speed on any device by clicking theĀ settings gear icon, selecting Playback speed, and choosing a different speed from the menu, or even setting a custom speed.
