The Architecture of Technical Logic.
Deconstructing the complexities of the classical guitar to build a path for the dedicated hobbyist.
Twenty-Four Years on the Path.
This Academy is the result of twenty-four years of obsession with the classical guitar and twenty years spent at the teaching bench. My own journey—from the first curiosities of a beginner to the deep focus of professional study—taught me that the technical "secrets" of the elite shouldn’t be secrets at all.
I’ve spent two decades engineering a way to teach high-level technique that respects both the physical logic of the hand and the reality of the person playing. When you study here, you are gaining access to the technical blueprints I’ve gathered from a lifetime of musical curation and troubleshooting.
Built for the Modern Hobbyist.
I believe that high-level guidance shouldn’t only be accessible to those pursuing a career in music. There is a specific kind of player—the dedicated hobbyist—who is often overlooked by the traditional academic model.
You are someone who values the craft and seeks technical mastery, but you are also balancing a life full of jobs, families, and finite time. I am building this sanctuary to provide the resource I wish I had: a space where you can achieve refined technique and physical ease on the instrument without the guilt of a rigid academic schedule.
My mission is to help you replace the "mysteries" of the guitar with Technical Logic. But logic is only the foundation. The ultimate goal is to give you the physical freedom to make truly beautiful music and to ensure that every moment you spend with the instrument is a source of genuine joy, not a list of chores. Whether you have an hour a day or just a few stolen sessions a week, that time should be your sanctuary.
The journey toward mastery should feel as rewarding as the music you are working to create.
The Approach.
To help you navigate the repertoire with more ease and less frustration, I focus on two core frameworks:
I. Technical Blueprints Instead of just "practicing harder," we deconstruct the mechanics of the movement. I break down complex passages into small, logical blueprints that respect the anatomy of the hand. This turns a difficult hurdle into an engineered solution, giving you a repeatable path to physical ease.
II. The 3-Tier System Reading music shouldn’t be the barrier to playing it. My re-engineered Sagreras scores provide a choice in how you digest a piece—from enhanced notation with technical tabs to traditional scores. This allows you to choose the level of literacy support you need today, so you can spend your energy on the music rather than struggling with the page.
Choosing Your Depth.
I’ve designed the Academy to support different levels of dedication. Whether you want to explore the archive on your own or sit at my table for a decade, there is a path for you.
The Archive (Self-Managed)
My growing library of technical tutorials and re-engineered scores. While it begins with the foundation of the Sagreras lineage, this is an evolving resource designed to address the full spectrum of technical mastery for the modern guitarist. Shared freely with the community.
Open Studio (Project-Based)
For the guitarist working through a specific hurdle. I allocate 8 hours a week for technical consultations to help you engineer a "blueprint" for your current piece or plateau. (Open Studio sessions will be available starting March 2026.)
The Apprenticeship (The Twelve Chairs)
The highest level of mentorship. I limit this path to twelve active chairs to ensure deep, individualized curation. This is a partnership of intent, not a contract. Because space is finite, we share a quiet understanding: if a season of life requires you to step away, you honor the lineage by vacating your seat for the next seeker. You are always welcome to apply again when your season changes. (Applications for the Twelve Chairs will open later in 2026.)
Let’s build your staircase.
I am building this Academy to be the resource I wish I had when I first picked up the guitar. Whether you are here to browse the Archive, secure an Open Studio session, or join the Studio Ledger for the 2027 launch, know that I am rooting for your progress.
The mountain is steep, but the climb is where the music happens. I’ll see you in the studio.

The Foundation
My approach to the guitar isn't just based on intuition; it is built on a foundation of formal academic rigor and over 12 years of experience in universities and conservatories. I spent a decade as a Professor of Music at the University of Sonora, where I founded the University Guitar Orchestra and mentored students through the foundational skills of theory and classical guitar.
To ensure my "Technical Blueprints" actually work for the modern hobbyist, I’ve backed my artistic training with the science of learning:
-
Academic Authority: I hold a Doctor of Musical Arts (DMA) from the University of Kentucky.
-
The Science of Teaching: I earned a Master of Education specializing in Competency-Based Education (CBE), which is the engine behind my systematic approach to technical mastery.
-
Artistic Roots: My own technical foundation was forged at the Conservatorio del Estado de México and the Conservatorio de las Rosas, and refined through masterclasses with masters like Giampaolo Bandini and Paolo Pegoraro.
-
Global Reach: I have performed as a soloist and in ensembles across Austria, Croatia, the USA, Italy, Belgium, Czech Republic, Germany, and Mexico.
-
Digital Pedagogy: My digital studio, Learn Classical Guitar Online, has reached over 129,000 views, allowing me to refine a method that works for remote learners worldwide.
I have dedicated my career to deconstructing the complexities of the classical guitar so that you don't have to. Whether you are sitting in one of my Twelve Chairs or exploring the Archive, you are gaining access to a curriculum engineered for both physical ease and musical joy.
