The "Home-Base" Anchor

In this lesson, finger 2 has a very specific "home base": string 3, fret 2. Aim to keep this finger hovering directly over this spot at all times. By maintaining this consistent proximity, you create a stable blueprint for the hand, reducing the mental friction of finding your position between chord changes. ensuring that the bass note and the ima plaqués land with absolute symmetry.

Adjacent Shift Mapping

In this lesson, finger 1 is your most active left hand element, pressing a note in almost every measure. However, it only ever moves a one-string distance to an adjacent string. Focus on the precision of these small, vertical shifts. By keeping the movement minimal, you engineer a smoother transition.

The Metric Blueprint

Once the physical movements feel stable, begin counting the beats (1, 2, 3) out loud as you play. This practice bridges the gap between mechanical execution and musical mastery, sharpening your rhythmic perception and ensuring that the bass note and the ima plaqués land with absolute symmetry.

The Play along

I've found that at the begining of the learning journey it can be very helpful to have a recording to follow along. Remember that you can easily change YouTube video playback speed on any device by clicking the settings gear icon, selecting Playback speed, and choosing a different speed from the menu, or even setting a custom speed.
