Studio Insights
📐 Spatial Containment
Strategy is your best tool for speed. Keep fingers 1 and 3 "stationed" within the first and third frets. By keeping your hand contained within this active zone, you minimize the physical distance required to strike, turning a frantic reach into a calm, intentional press.
⏳ The Pinky Paradox
As the 4th finger joins the ritual, focus on curvature. The pinky is strongest when it maintains its arch. Avoid the temptation to flatten the finger, which creates unnecessary friction and slows down your melodic transitions.
🔔 String-Crossing Symmetry
With the map now spanning all three treble strings, your right hand must remain a steady, vertical engine. Keep the i-m gait consistent as you navigate the vertical "levels" of the strings.
The Play along
I've found that at the begining of the learning journey it can be very helpful to have a recording to follow along. Remember that you can easily change YouTube video playback speed on any device by clicking the settings gear icon, selecting Playback speed, and choosing a different speed from the menu, or even setting a custom speed.
