Chapters 2 and 3 are ready.
Lesson 1 | Open Stings and Right Hand Storkes
Lesson 1 introduces the right-hand fundamental skill of the alternating action of the index and middle fingers, focusing exclusively on the open strings. By removing the left hand entirely, we create the mental space needed to focus on the right hand.
Studio Insights
📐 The Walking Gait
Approach your i-m (index and middle) alternation like a steady stride. Think of your fingers as legs in motion; by keeping movements small and close to the strings, you eliminate wasted energy and build precision from day one.
⏳ Mechanical Versatility
While Sagreras suggests the apoyando (rest stroke) for depth, this is your training ground for the tirando (free stroke) as well. Mastering both early allows you to evolve your tone across different musical textures.
🔔 Rhythmic Blueprint
This lesson isn't just about strings; it’s your introduction to the logic of the 4/4 time signature. Use the whole notes and quarter notes to anchor your internal clock.
The Play along
I've found that at the begining of the learning journey it can be very helpful to have a recording to follow along. Remember that you can easily change YouTube video playback speed on any device by clicking the settings gear icon, selecting Playback speed, and choosing a different speed from the menu, or even setting a custom speed.
